The Pommy Tree is no longer in business
"I recently spent 10 days at the Pommy and enjoyed it immensely. The owners, Mark & Debbie are wonderful hosts and enjoy making your experience a home away from home . They provide a magnificent English breakfast to help you start your day. As well, the guests have complete access to the living, dining & kitchen areas along with large TVs for your viewing. The B&B is very posh, I may say. It has a pool as well as a number of private patio areas where you can sit outside and just enjoy the quiet. For me, a particular thrill were the magpies. Mark feeds them daily so they are plump and entertaining to say the least. Mark & Debbie are so easy to relate to and you feel you have known them all your life. They both went out of their way to help me. The first morning, Debbie drove me to the school I would be attending for the 10 days and even prepared some maps to help me find my way. Later in the week, they invited me to join them one evening for a delicious supper that Mark had prepared (he's the cook). As well, they would leave me snacks, cheeses, crackers, juices, etc. when I returned after a long day at the school. My experience was truly a home away from home and I thank both of them for being such wonderful hosts.
I liked the owners, Mark & Debbie. As well, the atmosphere they provided - no fuss, no stress. Just a personal touch and a delight.
I can't think of anything more the owners could do that they are already doing." Lynn - posted on Expedia Jan 2018
"A wonderful weekend staying here whilst attending the Aussie Cross Country Championships. Mark and Debbie could not have been more hospitable. The attention to detail is quite amazing. There's even a mini gym to compliment the pool. Beautiful dinner on the first night, we were welcome to search through the entertainment book for dinner vouchers etc for the rest of our stay. Even had a late leisurely brekky watching Mo Farah race in the Olympic 5k final on checkout day with no pressure to leave. Home from home. Looking forward to even more improvements when you find a excellent black pudding source Mark!!!!!
Room Tip: The twin bed room is the largest although the Queen room is fine.

"Great people, lovely warm and welcoming.
Deb and Mark were the most welcoming hosts, nothing was too much for them and I will certainly be looking forward to staying with them again next time I'm in Canberra. The rest of my family stayed in a brand new Motel very close by and the atmosphere there in their rooms was very cold and impersonal in comparison to The Pommy Tree. Even the daily feeding of the local magpies on the back deck was an experience filled with laughter and joy! What a great place to stay!! Pros: Everything! Cons: Nothing, Deb and Mark, just keep doing what you are doing and the way you are doing it! You were great!! Location: Very quiet neighbourhood, very little street noise if any. Nearby parks and tourist attractions very close by." Craig
